HER NYC Presents Cirque du So Gay
HER, the social app for lesbians, bisexual women, and queer folk threw a circus-themed extravaganza appropriately called “Cirque du So Gay” Thursday evening at The DL in New York City.
But there was nothing DL to see here — botanicals overflowed the blue-and-red-hued lounge while attitude-filled talents excited the room. Tansy Tan Dora, Fou York, Rivolta Sata, and the Brides of Burlesque all stunned the audience with their provocative queer and trans inspired performance art. With a focus on having guests actually get to know each other, this dance party on the Lower East Side attracted friendly and easy-going partiers, making for an epic yet laid back night.
A portion of the proceeds from the party went to The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative; which provides educational, strategic and financial assistance to organizations that support marginalized LGBTQ communities in the United States and around the world.
